10 Solo Date Ideas That Will Help You Romanticize Fall

We’re officially in October which means fall is here! Fall is probably my favorite time of year. I love the changing of the leaves, the crisp, cool air, the flannels + sweaters, and all of the cozy scents + feels we get. Fall also represents change + transformation. Fall’s representation feels extra present this season of my life as I’m currently experiencing some big transformational changes of my own. Some days are cold + heavy and other days bright + hopeful, just the way Fall can be + I’m doing my best to see the beauty of both. This season, I want to romanticize the heck out of fall + take myself on cute little fall dates. You can bring a friend if you want to, too :) But if you’re solo this season, these solo date ideas are perfect for getting all those fall feels we all enjoy.

  1. Bring a book or journal to a local coffee shop

Bring your Kindle or the book you’re currently reading and a journal, order that pumpkin spiced latte you’ve been craving, and find a cozy spot to read and journal for a couple hours. Get lost in your book, get lost in the people watching, just get lost + then come back to yourself.

  2. Make a fall playlist + Go on a Fall foliage drive

One of my favorite things to do is to go on a drive + listen to music, especially in the fall. It just makes the experience extra special + feels like scenes out of a Nancy Meyers movie. Add some Hazlett and Novo Amor.

  3. Book a dinner Reservation for one at a restaurant you’ve always wanted to try

This one may feel scary to do and I must admit, I have never done this, but I think there is something so empowering about being able to sit alone at a restaurant and enjoying your own company. I’m going to challenge myself to take myself out on this date!

  4. Get a Fall Themed Mani/Pedi

I just recently did this and it was the most relaxing 2 hours. I got a deep chocolatey color for my manicure and a pumpkin spice on my toes! There’s just something about getting my nails done that makes me feel so put together.

  5. Make a Trader Joe’s run for all their fall items

Trader Joe’s is the absolute best for fall-themed everything. They bring back old favorites like the pumpkin spice sheet cake and pecan pumpkin oatmeal. I want to try the pumpkin spice cold brew coffee and the teeny tiny apple pies this year!

  6. Go on a hike and admire the changing leaves

If the weather stays comfortable enough to go on a fall hike, this is the best. It’s so refreshing to be out in nature taking in the crisp air and witnessing all the leaves changing from yellow, orange + red. Make sure to take some cute pics!

  7. Have your own fall picnic

Pick up a bottle of your favorite kombucha and a slice of pizza or sushi from your favorite place and head to the park with a blanket + the book you’re currently reading for a cute fall picnic. You can combine this with your fall-themed Trader Joe’s grocery run too!

  8. Have a fall baking day

Cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, ginger… These spices make me feel cozy and give me a real sense of fall. Find 2-3 baking recipes on Pinterest and go shopping for the ingredients you need. Set your kitchen up like a Nancy Meyer’s scene, turn on the Fall Feels playlist on Spotify, and get to baking!

  9. Fall themed movie marathon

We can go many directions with this one. You can do a Halloween theme + watch Hocus Pocus + HalloweenTown. Or you could do fall classics like When Harry Met Sally + Good Will Hunting. You just have to make sure it gives you the warm, cozy feeling and you have a hot apple cider + popcorn nearby.

  10. Go thrifting for fall sweaters & flannels

I love thrifting this time of year. You can really score some gold. Anywhere from cozy sweaters, oversized sweatshirts + flannels, brightly-colored cardigans, autumnal handbags, high boots, the list goes on and on. Make sure to search through the men’s section too. I have the most fun thrifting in the fall.
