Clean Beauty Spotlight: Versed Skin

It’s been a hot minute since I wrote a blog post - life has gotten so busy and do people even read blogs anymore? I enjoy writing them but I feel like it’s becoming an extinct form of content creation. Regardless, I still read them so I’m going to continue writing them! So to kickstart my blogging comeback, I am starting a series! A clean beauty series. Where I showcase some of my favorite clean brands, who they are, what they do, and share a few of my go-to’s.

To start, we’re highlighting the brand, Versed Skin. You’ve probably seen this brand slapped all over your Instagram, with their simple packaging and affordable prices. Although their prices are low, they have some of the highest standards when it comes to ingredients. According to their website, Versed Skin is “formulated to the highest standards in the world, European Union standards, nixing 1,350+ ingredients that have questionable data when it comes to the health of our skin, body, and planet.” We love to see a company that truly cares about removing toxic ingredients from their products and 1,350 ingredients is a hell of a lot to remove.

Besides using clean ingredients, Versed values transparency. They never airbrush their models and they also don’t market themselves as “sustainable” because they know they’re not by textbook definition. Their concept of sustainability must “encompass impacts across climate, waste, water, air, biodiversity, and social inclusion.” Whereas, many brands greenwash their company, Versed is upfront about what they’re doing to reduce their carbon footprint by sticking to the facts and not making bold claims.

The last reason for why this company is so great, is that it’s built on community. Instead of spending an arm and a leg on marketing, they chose to spend it on quality but affordable skincare. Versed researched 16 million people which consisted of mostly Millennials and Gen Z, and asked them what their main concerns were and guess what their biggest concern was? You guessed it. Price. Versed was able to take these very valid concerns and turn them into one of the fastest-growing clean skincare brands on the market right now.

MY TOP 3

Hard to choose my top three because all their products are truly fantastic. But, if I had to choose, these are the three I’d take with me on a deserted island:

Silk slip conditioning lip oil, $9.99

This lip oil is my absolute favorite. Made with jojoba oil and Vitamin E, this keeps your lips ultra hydrated. I opt for the clear oil but they also come in lip tints too. Seriously, this lip oil will nourish the driest of lips.

Dew point moisturizing gel cream, $14.99

One of their best sellers is the Dew Point Moisturizing Gel-Cream. This is a lightweight, jelly-like cream that gives you bouncy skin without feeling greasy or clogging pores. Made with aloe leaf and sodium hyaluronate (which is like hyaluronic acid in that it helps draw in and retain skin’s moisture) and green tea, this moisturizer soothes skin and reduces inflammation. Apparently this sells every two minutes!

Doctor’s Visit Instant Resurfacing Mask, $17.99

This little pot of gold is a triple threat of AHA, BHA, and enzyme exfoliation. This tackles hyperpigmentation and boosts cell turnover for brighter and smoother skin. The glycolic and lactic acids dissolve dead skin and help fade dark spots, while salicylic acid minimizes the appearance of pores and redness. It leaves your skin feeling like you just got done with a facial that only cost you $17.99!
