What You Need For a Galentine's Dinner Party

Valentine’s Day. It’s either just another day or its a day that you want to be lavished in yummy chocolate and red roses. And while I do love roses & chocolate, Valentine’s day is just another day. I’m one of those people that think there shouldn’t be one specific day to celebrate love. And while I love Brady & we’ll celebrate, I”m very excited to celebrate a love of another kind. The gal kind. And what better way to celebrate than to get together with your besties for a Galentine’s Day dinner party!

Read on for everything you’ll need to host the ultimate Galentine’s Day party for you and your besties this year.

CUTE INVITES

I’ve been using Canva for so many things lately. And one of the reasons I love Canva is because they have sooo many cute templates for literally any occasion you can think of. After you come up with your Galentine’s guest list, head over to Canva and create a cute invite to send to your gals! You can also use this to create a dinner menu too! These are a few that captured my eye!

TABLE SETTING

Obviously we want to keep it girly and cute so expect shades of pink & white. I’ve also seen tables lined with butcher paper that can be used to write each of your guests name on as their place setting. Which brings me to my next point - tableware. I would keep it classy and simple. Add in these cute napkins and coupes for cocktails or mocktails. Can’t forget about lighting! Add in candles to make it extra romantic for your best gals. Use old wine bottles to hold your candlesticks or floral arrangement in. And for florals, I would go for a mix of white or light pink roses and peonies or hydrangeas.

FOOD & Drink IDEAS

The options are endless for food & drinks!

Food

  • Charcuterie Party

  • Fondue & Sides

  • Make your own pizza

  • Brunch - heart-shaped waffles, berries, whipped cream

  • Sweets only - chocolate covered strawberries, brownies, rice krispies, sour candy, cake pops, no sweet is left behind!

Drinks

  • Poppis or Olipops

  • Wine - specifically a rose or a champagne (mimosas if you’re doing brunch)

  • Or you can make a fun valentine’s themed cocktail like this one!

WHAT TO DO

I love incorporating an activity whenever I can. It gives us a fun thing to do and everyone can leave the party with a keepsake! This year, I’m planning on doing a wine glass painting night. My mom has these beautiful glasses that have grape vines painted all over them and I just think they’re so beautiful, I wanted to make one of my own! Here are some more fun ideas:

  • Paint candle sticks

  • Make friendship bracelets or keychains

  • Create vision boards

  • Make bath bombs

  • Pajama & movie night

  • Take a candle-making class

Whatever you do, your gals are sure to have a fun, memorable time!
