The Clean Beauty Products in My Bathroom Right Now

If you happen to follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I am making efforts to switch up my beauty routine in a direction that’s cleaner (fewer chemicals, more natural ingredients) + less harmful to our planet (cruelty-free, recyclable). Most of you guys know by now that there’s an ugly side to beauty products. Most of the products that we slather, lather + apply directly to our face, scalp + pits contain harmful chemicals in them that we had no idea about until recently. We’re currently seeing a huge trend + movement towards clean beauty which I love but since it is a huge trend at the moment, there are many beauty brands out there that may be trying to do great things for us + our Earth but the products are really not up to par. So in this post, I’m sharing what clean beauty is in my bathroom right now + if I would repurchase them again. Let me know what beauty brand you stand by + love! I’m always on the hunt. Enjoy!
This deodorant is made of natural mineral salt which is free of aluminum, parabens, silicones, phthalates + artificial fragrances + colors. It is vegan + cruelty-free. The ingredients are non-toxic + the packaging’s eco-friendly. Overall, I really wanted to like this deodorant. It glides on smoothly + doesn’t irritate the skin but it’s not a winner for me. It didn’t keep my B.O. at bay. I found myself having to reapply this at least 3x a day to keep me smelling fresh. I know that with natural deodorants, it’s common that you have to reapply more than once but 3 times is a little bit much.
VERDICT: WILL NOT REPURCHASE
Tarte Clean Queen Vegan Deodorant $14
This natural deodorant is non-irritating + has natural odor neutralizers for a healthy, clean feel without harsh chemicals. This cream-to-powder formula has natural plant starches to fight odor, soothing aloe to avoid irritation + a sweet vanilla scent that provides you with an elevated freshness. I really like this deodorant. It keeps me smelling fresh, doesn’t irritate my skin + I only have to apply it once (maybe twice if it’s a really sweaty day)! The only downside is the price-tag — a little on the high-end side but it’s worth it to me if the product works, which it does.
VERDICT: WOULD REPURCHASE AGAIN
Honest Beauty Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer $17
This 2-in-1 mascara + lash primer work together to boost lash length, volume + definition. This clean mascara is cruelty-free + made without parabens, synthetic fragrances, silicones, + mineral oil. I liked this mascara but I wasn’t in love with it. I found that the wand would always touch my eyelids when I applied the mascara so I’d have to spend extra time wiping it off my lid + trying to be very careful to not do it again. I wasn’t impressed with the volume either but I did enjoy the primer that it came with. It gave me a nice boost of length beforehand.
VERDICT: WILL NOT REPURCHASE
Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara $23
This Tarte Gifted mascara delivers reparative + volumizing properties to give you instant results + better lash health. It works to hydrate + replenish dry lashes to prevent fallout. Flake-free + long-wearing. This product is vegan + formulated without mineral oil, sulfates + gluten. This mascara was recommended by several people + it has not disappointed. I love the wand in this mascara because it is wide enough to sweep through my lashes but doesn’t clump them together. I don’t get any mascara on my eyelid + I see little to no flakes after all-day wear.
VERDICT: WOULD REPURCHASE AGAIN
Love Beauty + Planet Delightful Detox Charcoal + Bergamot Shampoo + Conditioner $7
This plant-based shampoo + conditioner is infused with bamboo charcoal, known for its detoxifying properties, removes excess dirt + oil, leaving your hair super clean + citrusy from the bergamot. The shampoo is 93% naturally derived while the conditioner is 97% naturally derived but both are cruelty-free, sulfate-free paraben-free, silicone-free, dye-free + formulated without phthalates. Their bottles are also 100% recyclable! This is the only product I’ve tried from the LBP brand, but I absolutely love it. I feel like it does an incredible job at leaving my hair feeling clean + nourished.
VERDICT: WOULD REPURCHASE AGAIN
RAW SUGAR COCONUT + MANGO BODY WASH $7
Raw Sugar Living is a plant-based lifestyle brand on a mission to promote clean living for the body + soul. Their products are pure, whole + unfiltered — hence, raw. Like the rest of the products shared today, Raw Sugar is made without parabens, sulfates, phthalates or animal testing. On top of that, they give back to the community by donating a fresh bar of soap to a person in need for every product purchased. This is the newest product I’ve been trying out but I can’t say enough good things about it. This body wash makes your skin feel so hydrated + sweet. I look forward to my showers because of this product now + I’m eager to try out more from this brand.

I know this is a short list of products but I want to make sure that I’m giving each product a proper trial period which means it may take some time to transition + figure out what works + what doesn’t.
