My Current Makeup Routine

A smile is the best makeup any girl can wear.

Today I wanted to share my current makeup routine for summer. By no means am I a makeup guru, this regimen has just been my jam as of late. It’s a glowy, bronzy look that takes less than 10 minutes. I feel like I should explain my skin type for reference. It’s mostly normal but I do tend to get oily in my T-zone throughout the day depending on what I’m doing. I know a lot of us are probably giving our skin a much-deserved break from makeup being in quarantine + all, but on the days I feel like sprucing up, this makeup is my go-to. So lets get started. Before I put any makeup on, I always always always wash my hands. I use my fingers quite a bit to assist in blending my makeup so they best be sanitized. I find the warmth of my fingers make the makeup application blend more naturally + it goes a heck of a lot faster.

Moisturize.

I’m currently loving Good Molecules Silicone-Free Primed Moisturizer. It acts as a two-in-one for moisture + primer. I love that there’s no grease or gloop, its lightweight + gives the perfect base for the rest of your face. Also, the price is right on this one!

Face.

I go in with my It Cosmetics CC+ Cream. Guys, this is MY HOLY GRAIL. If you’re looking for a lightweight, hydrating yet full-coverage foundation — you need this. I can’t say enough great things about this CC Cream. It works for all skin types, it has SPF 50 + is super buildable (a little goes a long way!) I set under my eyes + any other areas where I tend to get oily throughout the day. Super important for my oily girls!

Bronze.

Next up is bronzer. I do the “3” method meaning I brush my bronzer brush across the temples of my forehead, sweep through my cheeks + finish on my jawline like you’re brushing the number “3” on your face. I do this a few times. Sound confusing? I promise it’s not. There are a few bronzers I like to circulate through. Currently, I’m using Milani baked bronzer to add color back to my face. However the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer is another drugstore favorite. If you’re looking for something a little more high-end, I’m obviously going to advice you get Benefit Hoola. It’s a fan favorite because it’s amazing. Wanna know another place I like to add bronzer? On the crease of my eyelid. Just adds a little more warmth to your face + definition to your eyes.

Blush.

I love using Stila’s Convertible Color. This creamy two-in-one lip + blush is the perfect item for a dewy, natural look. I actually love using my handy dandy BeautyBlender for this one. I apply to my cheeks + across the bridge of my nose for a sun-kissed finish.

Eyes.

Unless I’m using bronzer as an eye shadow, I’ll usually go in with my beloved eye shadow palette, Tartelette in Bloom. All the shades are great for everyday use with with a good mix of matte tones + shimmery neutrals.

Highlight.

To finish the face — highlighter! You can’t have a glowy look without some highlight. The mildest highlighter in my collection is the Revlon Photoready Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick. It’s very subtle yet has just the right amount of glow. For high-end, Becca Shimmering Highlighter in Champagne Pop is my go-to. Lightly brush it over the top of your cheekbones, bridge of your nose, inner eye duct + cupid’s bow.

Lips.

Last thing you need is a hydrating lip. I don’t get fancy with this guys. I use my favorite chapstick — Burt’s Bees + a lip stain.

Mwah! So glowy + fresh.

Love + light,
Cris
