Our Mountain Getaway

Happy October!

We’ve made it to one of my favorite seasons— autumn. If I’m completely honest thought, Spring is my #1 because of my birthday but Fall is a very close second!

September was such a busy month for us but in the best way. We spent time with a lot of our friends and family, we traveled to Kansas City to support our friend’s foundation, we celebrated our six year anniversary in the mountains and then I had a girls fall retreat during peak leaf peeping season! So yeah, it was a busy month but I wouldn’t change a thing.

But to go back, Brady and I celebrated our six year anniversary which is just CRAZY to think about. Time truly flies by when you’re having fun and we have fun. To celebrate, we decided to head up to the mountains and stay in a cozy cabin. This place was so cute and had everything we needed. Before heading up, we stopped at the grocery store to pick up supplies for breakfast and dinner and of course, wine for me and beer for him, then we were off to Idaho Springs!

We made a pit stop at Westbound & Down for a couple beers and ordered their green chili cheese fries & oh my goodness gracious, we DEVOURED them. We walked it off and explored the little town before heading to our cabin.

The cabin was so quaint and perfect for two. Brady built a fire and I immediately turned on Hocus Pocus for the fall vibes. We made homemade pizzas that night and played board games. I beat him twice playing “Sorry!” Hehe.

The next day, we got up early to ride ATVs. It was my first time ever driving one and to say I was terrified, would be an understatement. As nervous and shaky as I was, I wanted to ride my own and closely followed behind the guide. Once I got use to the awkwardness of the ATV, I was having so much fun whipping around the treacherous mountain terrain! I was insanely sore afterwards and needed a hot tub sesh to soothe the achiness!

Brady whipped up dinner that night and made pork chops with potatoes & asparagus. We drank more wine and wrapped up the night by watching a creepy movie. If you’re in need of a good Halloween movie to watch, it’s called Alone and it’s on Netflix!

It was such a lovely weekend spent in the mountains and celebrating six special years with Brady. Cheers to another year of fun with my best friend!
