The October Edit

Ahh fall. I love fall. The weather gets cooler, the leaves change color, the pumpkin spice, the cozy vibes. I love fall.

This past month has been a busy one. Not complaining but I feel like I always associate fall with slowing down and I did everything but. We’ve spent quality time with friends and family, gone to pumpkin patches, went to Red Rocks for a chilly, fun show, and… I got a promotion at work. EEEEP!! I am beyond excited for this next step in my career. Although my work load has increased, I will continue to make time for my passions and the projects that make me feel creative and alive, which includes content creation and blogging!

So with all that said - I wanted to get my October favorites down. I had a lot of fashion favorites this month as I put away my summer clothes and brought out my fall pieces and found some new favorites! But before we get into that, let’s start with what we loved in beauty.

beauty

KITSCH HEATLESS CURLS

I like to avoid heat styling my hair as much as I can so I don’t damage my hair anymore that it already is. I got this heatless curl kit and it works wonders! I like to use it on damp hair and then work my hair through the silky curling wand, sleep on it and in the morning, the most beautiful curls unravel. It’s also great for me because it usually takes a half hour to curl my hair and this just does all the work for me!

E.L.F. BROW LIFT

Another win for E.L.F.! I’ve tried using a basic soap product but it left my brows with a flaky residue so I was hesitant to try another soap-like product but for a price point of $10, I was willing to try it and wow, I’m so glad I did because I love this product! I would save your money on the expensive brow stuff and go for this because this is a dupe and it doesn’t leave a residue or give you flaky brows.

FIRST AID BEAUTY FACIAL CLEANSER

This is such a gentle cleanser that foams up really nicely and washes off all your makeup. I’ve been loving it lately because my skin has been really struggling and this is the only product that has calmed those stubborn breakouts without stripping my skin.

Ballet flats

13-year old Cristina would be so proud of her fashion choices at such a young age. I loved wearing ballet flats then and I have to admit that I am so happy they’re back in style. I love how simple, yet elegant it can make an outfit feel. Plus, these ones are soo comfy!

gym duffel bag

I finally got myself a cute gym bag. You can also use it for traveling but I really wanted a designated gym bag that I can keep my after gym-care items in such as deodorant, extra hair ties, mini shampoo/conditioner and my swimsuit and goggles for those days I want to swim a couple laps. It’s so spacious and fits all my essentials.

abercrombie jeans

I got 2 pairs of Abercrombie jeans last month and I wear them almost every other day. I love the fit of these and they are such good quality.

costco fleece

This Costco fleece was a STEAL. I usually try to resist the clothing area at Costco but when this fleece caught my eye, I just HAD to get it. It has heat technology in it so it keeps you super warm and it is so soft! Feels high quality and it’s only $16.99.

watch band

I finally got a new Apple watch band and got rid of the cheap, rubber one. I found this beautiful metal chain link band and thought it elevated my watch to look much more expensive and it was only $20!

home

nightstands

We upgraded our nightstands this past month and I couldn’t be happier. It truly makes a difference and feels more grown up. I love these because of the open shelving but it also has plenty of closed storage space and even has an outlet on the back to plug in your devices.

essential oils

This essential oil blend set got me so excited. It comes in four different scents that are fall-themed and each of them have a different type of feeling associated with it like calm, energy, focus and joy. Love. I put them in my diffuser morning and night.

fall of the house of usher

We were watching a lot of scary movies in October until we started watching this new Netflix show, The Fall of the House of Usher. If you liked The Haunting of Hill House or Midnight Mass, then you will love this series. The same creator, Matt Flanagan, has done a great job in creating really captivating, creepy stories and this is one of them.

Daily planner

One thing about me is that I like to write to-do lists and always have a planner on hand. I have definitely digitized most of my calendar but I still love writing my day out every morning and crossing things off my to-do list. It does something to my brain where it feels motivated to keep going and crossing off the next thing on my list. This Papier planner is so cute and has the essential sections I look for in a planner.

What was your favorite tv show or movie in october?
