A Fall Weekend in Palisade, CO

Last month, we made a trip I’ve been wanting to make for quite some time! It was to a special place - Palisade, Colorado! Also known as the “Peach Capital of Colorado” or “Colorado’s Wine Country.” Whatever you want to call it, Palisade is a small mountain town nestled on the Western Slope about a 4-hour mountainous drive from Denver so you’ll want to make a weekend trip out of it. I’d heard about how amazing the wine tasting was there so we rented some bikes (electric is the way to go) and had ourselves a little wine tasting tour! I’m sharing with you where we stayed, places to eat and where to drink! We couldn’t make it to every place listed but I will definitely keep this handy for the next visit :)

restaurants | night life

Copeka Coffee - coffee shop with matcha, chai + cocktails. Oh, and their toasts are amazing!

Slice O Life Bakery - a cute bakery serving up pastries + coffee

Peche - a fine dining farm-to-table eatery (fun fact: Peche is French for “peach”)

357 Bar + Grill - a local spot serving up your traditional bar food. The breakfast was great + service was quick! I ordered the 2 Egg Breakfast with a side of French Toast. So good!

The Livery - a fun dive bar with pool tables, shuffle board, and karaoke on Friday nights!

Peach Street Distillers - a relaxed atmosphere offering samples of their distilled spirits + distillery tours

Palisade Brewing Company - a brewery with a great outdoor space serving craft beers + delicious sandwiches

wineries

Red Fox Cellars - this is the first one we went to since it was the furthest from where we were staying. they have great wine tasting flights + wine cocktails!

The Ordinary Fellow- the new winery in town!

Colorado Vintner’s Collective - a cute little spot to try out a variety of wines from different vineyards in the area. fire pits and table seating outside. we took in the sunset views + had a glass of tempranillo rose that was to die for

Maison La Belle - my favorite winery/vineyard we went to! the outdoor setting felt like you were wine tasting in Napa. our sommelier was so friendly and knew how to answer all of our rookie wine questions. the charcuterie board was also TOP NOTCH.

Varaison Vineyards - i’m bummed we didn’t make it to Varaison this first time because i’ve heard it’s one of the best! known for their amazing wines + educational tastings!

Meadery of the Rockies - Colorado's first meadery! they make an array of honey-based wines, honey themed gifts + honey flavored local foods of all kinds.

reservations

There’s a few B&B’s located in Palisade but we stayed at this Airbnb. Great location, clean, had a fire-pit and two cruiser bikes you could use! However, when it came to bikes, we rented electric bikes from Rapid Creek Cycles. We decided on electric, even though they were pricier than your regular cruisers, because we knew we wanted to go far and having a pedal assist bike helped us visit the most wineries without breaking a sweat!

Overall, we had a great time in Palisade, Colorado and can’t wait to go back next year. Would love to go to their annual Peach Festival or Fall Harvest to really see Palisade in all its glory! Let me know if you’ve ever been to Palisade or what you’re excited to try when you visit!
